OBJECTIVE: We sought to determine whether cytomegalovirus infection of extravillous
trophoblast cells induces inflammatory changes that lead to cell death. STUDY DESIGN:
Extravillous trophoblast (HTR-8/SVneo) cells were infected with cytomegalovirus. Cell death
